

The use of the recording studio itself was a prime element in developing the essence of what would come to be known as country & western music. This is the real thing, just guys sitting in a room playing music. Or if by chance a deal was struck, a simple production such as this would never have been allowed.

If a country artist had gone to Rounder itself with a project such as this in the '80s, they would have most likely been turned down flat. Sadly enough, musicians seeking to release a recording such as this, produced in this manner, have gone through decades of determined opposition from record companies and radio stations, despite what the fans seem to want. The surrounding darkness would symbolize the state of the country & western music scene by the early '80s, particularly in Nashville where these tracks were cut at the "old" Victor studios.

Response to this release and others in the series among fans was overwhelmingly positive, suggesting wandering souls being attracted to a beacon of light. The single comes on the heels of the duo’s debut EP “Love In A Bar”, a compilation of six unique tracks, which has amassed more than 2 million streams worldwide since its release in July 2019.
